The 9th Seminar of the Law & Technology Study Group was held on 9 February 2024. The paper on regulating AI from a law & economics perspective in the context of AI Regulation was given by Jakub Kabza PhD.
The speech presented the assumptions underlying regulatory theories within law & economics. The speaker also highlighted the economic approach present in the AI Regulation. The focal point of the speech was a discussion of the various models that can be used to regulate AI, with an indication of the costs and benefits of each. The speech concluded with an attempt to evaluate the regulatory model used in the AI Ordinance.
The Law and Technology seminar is organised by the Future law Lab Virtual Unit of the Jagiellonian University, BSJP|bnt Law Firm and JCJK working together as part of the BSJPTech project.
